Between Worlds

To me, nubivagant, or “wandering in the clouds,” is the freedom to envision life as it could be, and in one’s most vulnerable state. For me, it is the ability to be my true, most authentic self, rather than what society expects me to be. I chose this piece of art as a representation of what Jasmine (or Yasmeen) would actually look like. It is a reinterpretation of her, modestly dressed and free from societal standards of beauty.
