Turkey

Their words carved onto me,
Constricted and not free
Treated like a piece of meat
I am not a turkey,
Existing to please,
I belong to only me.
Yet why is my body not my own,
It belongs to those who please,
I want my rights,
I won’t go down without a fight,
The Americans who preach patriotically
Seem to establish a patriarchy
What will they do to me?
I am not a turkey,
Separating myself from the patriarchy
I will break free.
