Me

Who am I? What makes me me? Well, there is the more obvious and terse response: that I was born on April 27, 2007, at Stanford hospital. I have attended Pinewood School since kindergarten. But that doesn't tell you who I am. I’m a stubborn sister, I’m a kind friend, a tough soccer player, a difficult daughter, a loving granddaughter, a funny niece, and so much more.

I like to think that I am who I am partly because of my sister. She has taught me how to open up, how to laugh, and most of all: patience. Having a nine year old sibling is definitely not ideal, but it has its perks. As I venture through my life, making mistakes, I can teach her and help her understand what to expect and provide someone to talk to and learn from. After all, I’ve made a myriad of mistakes in my 13 years of existence; my life would be quite dull without them.

Along the way, I’ve made plenty of friends. But the ones that stick around and are a part of me, are the ones I truly cherish. True friends will admit when I have gone astray from who I truly am. My friends have supported me and allowed me to become a better person.

Soccer allows me to vent my anger, the anger of school and life in general, and causes my inner athlete to shine. When I was faced with the task of choosing a sport, one of my dearest friends introduced me to soccer. I began my journey at AYSO, a local soccer league that allowed me to progress and enhance my skills. Now, I even plan to strive in soccer when I attend college.

Though I may seem silly and fun at first, I am a very difficult and stubborn person. I see my opinion as the correct opinion, everyone else’s is inferior and incorrect. And paired with my parents, from whom I got this trait, it can be catastrophic. But with my stubbornness, I have found that I am an excellent person to confide in. And with that, I feel responsible for the well being of my friends and family.

There are many people to whom I look up to, but my grandmother is one of the strongest and most capable people that I know. She has the ability to lighten every room she steps into, and has worked her way to the top. She is one of the people who I aspire to be, and I constantly look forward to every opportunity to see her.

When I see someone in distress, I resort to humor. Humor is my way of connecting with people, and hopefully making their days a lot brighter. I love to view movies that hold bits and pieces of humor, for I believe that that makes the movie all the better. Humor is a way for people to connect and allows friendships to flourish.

All in all, I leave you with the fact that my goal in life is to create happiness in others, who are feeling as though happiness is a mile away.
