I Will Keep Going

All good things must come to an end,
But this time it will take me light years to recover

From this loss in my heart,
To the memories that can’t depart.
I didn’t get to hold your hand
when you needed it the most.
I didn’t get to say goodbye
that, I will regret for life.
Every day I sought
For the deadly virus to go away,
So that I could come home
To see you once again.
My heavy heart will forever remember
Your smile, your laugh, your voice.
Our story is left unfinished
And the pain and guilt will remain.
It pushed me back
I fell with a thud on that night in July
I couldn’t get back up
I couldn’t figure out how to continue
But now, I will keep going
Because I know that you’re not truly gone
I know that you are still with us,
I know that you are in me forever.
