A School Changed Forever

Myles Fox

When coming up with this photo idea, I wanted to really dig deep in what I could imagine the idea of "Setback" would be. Recently having been in photography, I have taken a number of photos and so for this submission I wanted to do something new that would really hit home with my viewers. Everything is set in the perfect place, and to keep a sense of realism in the photo everything within the photo is untouched, meaning nothing has been moved or changed within the objects of the photo. The black and white edits really are to give the viewer a past time feeling as a lot of us were away from Pinewood over the last couple of years and what we see as pinewood and the relationships of old have slightly diminished. What I mean by that is, personally, I don't think Pinewood will ever be as it once was, our way of life at school has changed and so though last year was a setback and that past is gone, the picture represents what I like to look at as old Pinewood. Pinewood and our experience of COVID, but past is what is and what must stay as, the picture stands for something of the past but also a recognition that it is past, and has passed and though it set us back as a community we are moving on as one.
