Dear Obstacles
Dear Obstacles,
the biggest curveball that you ever sent me,
was the COVID pandemic
You came as a wave, flowing over what leaders did to stop you, and you flowed over Pinewood,
and Pinewood tried to stop you from taking the students from this world
intentionally isolating us to stop you, the wave, from spreading you, however, changed your shape, from a wave
to an invisible gas, flowing through homes and restrictions people all over started feeling lonely, and the isolation saved us that was truly a curse
Dear Obstacles,
I felt lonely, all alone, in a world where everyone was a 2-D shape I was motivated to get to the end of the tunnel
I wanted to know when the isolation would end
I saw the light at the tunnel,
I watched as the world reeled from the tragedy
Dear Obstacles,
As the worst of you left,
I could see everyone,
relive a part of socialising that was lost
even though we must hide behind masks,
Thank you for everything you taught me about resilience
Sincerely,
Jacob Young
